Instructors:
Mark White is a professional Land Surveyor and a technical trainer specializing in survey-grade GNSS and robotic total stations. With over 30 years of experience in GNSS and robotics, including more than 15 years as a dedicated trainer and technical support specialist, he currently serves as the Training Manager at Duncan-Parnell, Inc.
Mark’s surveying expertise spans building and heavy highway construction, boundary and topographic surveys, GNSS control surveys, and DOT engineering surveys. He has conducted training in both static and RTK GNSS surveying, as well as conventional and robotic surveying, for a diverse range of clients, including military personnel, state Departments of Transportation, municipalities, and private surveyors.
Jefferson Canoy, PLS PSM, is a professionally licensed surveyor in North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, and Kentucky. He has earned degrees in Geomatics and History from NC A&T and UNCW, respectively. He is Executive Vice President of Survey Operations at TI Coastal Services, Inc., where he has spent most of his 17 years performing and overseeing hydrographic, topographic, and aerial-based surveys. These projects include annual monitoring and storm-damage surveys for beaches, waterways, and inlets; freshwater condition surveys for reservoirs, lakes, and rivers; long-term daily support surveys for dredging and other maritime construction; and shipping channel clearance surveys.
William E. Beardslee, PE, PLS, PP, is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor, Engineer, and Planner with over 45 years of experience in the field of land development. He is known for his excellent presentation and writing capabilities, along with being one of the leading technical experts on land development in the engineering and surveying arena. He has made over 2,000 presentations on engineering and surveying projects to local and state agencies. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner and Director of Engineering for Beardslee Engineering Associates in Sparta, NJ.
John Logsdon, ESQ, PLS earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Duke University in 1974. He started working in the surveying field in 1983 and received his licensure in January 1987. He owned and operated a small surveying firm in Wilkes County, NC until 1991, when he entered law school. By day, Logsdon worked as a real estate paralegal in Durham while attending the evening program at North Carolina Central School of Law. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Juris Doctor degree in 1995. After obtaining his law license, Logsdon returned to Wilkes County and joined the McElwee Firm, PLLC. His practice emphasizes residential and commercial real estate transactions and the resolution of real property disputes. He has substantial litigation experience at both the trial level and in our appellate courts. He represents individuals, developers and corporate clients in matters of land acquisition, development and financing, as well as commercial and business matters. He was appointed to North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCBEES) in 2016.
