Survey CAD Technician I - Norcross, GA 

T2 UES is looking for a Survey CAD Technician for our growing Norcross, GA office. We are seeking a career and quality-minded individual for challenging projects including all types of Boundary, GPS, Easement/Right of Way, ALTAs, Topographic Surveys. Successful candidate will work under direct supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor.  Local candidates only. This is a Full-Time position.  

Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in utilizing GDOT MicroStation v8i, and Bentley InRoads, and familiarity with GDOT PDP, EDG & Survey processes and standards. Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) experience a plus.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center and/or Carlson Survey is a plus.
  • Must have experience with boundaries, plats, property descriptions, easement & right-of-way maps and processing design survey topography and DTM surfaces.
  • Experience in processing of measurement data, including processing laser scanning and LiDAR data sets is a plus
  • Ability to do survey related property research is desired.
  • Analyze deeds and research materials for the production of the survey
  • A minimum of four (4) years of land surveying experience, a minimum of two (2) years of field-related experience and two (2) years of office experience is preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Associates or Technical Two year degree preferred.
  • Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
  • This position may require occasional site visits for client meetings and field QA/QC.

WSP has immediate opportunities for experienced Surveyors to join our Mooresville, NC office.

The Survey Crew Chief will supervise Survey crew members; keep accurate and complete field notes; communicate with office staff, train team members; and operate Leica robotic instrument, operate Leica total station, Leica data collector, Leica GPS (fast static, RTK and VRS), auto level and download data into computers each night.

 

Requirements include a HS diploma/GED; supplemental technical training in surveying and/or college-level courses in surveying; 7+ years of land survey experience; proficiency with ALTA, topographic surveys, construction surveys; knowledge of Leica field equipment, NCDOT field operations manual and safety regulations, and of Duke Energy field procedures and Duke Energy safety regulations.

NCDPS - Emergency Management 


State of NC Internship Program – Jurisdictional Boundaries (county/state boundaries) (Hybrid) - Wake County, NC

Description of Work 

Project Objective: Provide support to the NC Geodetic Survey staff to perform a variety of surveys to support the county/state boundary program, floodplain mapping program, Flood Inundation Mapping Alert Network (FIMAN), aerial imagery and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) projects, surveys to support the 2022 datum change, height modernization surveys and mapping using  an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). 

Major Tasks to be Performed: Provide support to NC Geodetic Survey’s staff to perform county boundary surveys to reestablish county and state boundaries, Flood Inundation Mapping Alert Network (FIMAN) vertical control surveys, mapping using a Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), quality control surveys for aerial imagery and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) elevation data, and height modernization surveys. 

Final Product or Outcome Anticipated: Perform research, field data collection, and map production to support the development of final report, exhibits, and survey plats to reestablish county/state boundaries, benchmarks at FIMAN gauge locations, a variety of photogrammetry mapping products, aerial imagery and LiDAR elevation quality control reports, geodetic control projects submitted to the National Geodetic Survey. 

Academic Majors Desired: Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, and Civil Engineering Technology  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
  • Good mathematical ability and computer skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • An applicant must be a permanent North Carolina resident attending a college, university, law school, community college or technical institute in North Carolina or a North Carolina resident attending an equivalent institution out of state.
  • Applicants must carry a 2.5 or greater overall grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old by January 1, 2021.
  • Community college students must have completed their first year completed before beginning the internship.
  • Applicants must be continuing their education in the fall following their participation in the program.
  • To qualify for a law internship, applicants must have completed at least one year of law school before the beginning of the internship, unless other majors are listed.
  • Students having previously held paid internships with this program are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to work full-time for the entire 10-week internship. Applicants must be able to provide legal proof of identity and work authorization within three working days of employment.
