GUEST SPEAKER
Timothy W. Burch, NSPS Executive Director
Timothy W. Burch, PLS, the new Executive Director of NSPS will be our keynote speaker this year. He served as President-Elect of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) Board of Directors (2019-2021), Vice President, Secretary (2015-2019) and as Governor/Director representing Illinois (2007-2014). Tim currently co-hosts and produces the NSPS podcast, “Surveyor Says!” along with assisting the oversight of the NSPS social media accounts. He is also a member of the NSPS Joint Government Affairs and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey committees. Tim was recently named to serve as Chair of the FIG Commission 1 – Working Group 1.1 (Professional Ethics) and will serve as Chair for the overall Commission 1 starting in 2023.
Before being appointed the Executive Director of NSPS, Tim was the Director of Survey for SPACECO, Inc. in Rosemont, Illinois where his duties included establishing new markets and clients as well as mentoring surveying staff. He is a co-contributing editor for survey in GPS World Magazine (2015-present) and contributor to various surveying society newsletters and blogs. Tim also serves as a Brand Ambassador for the “Get Kids into Survey” initiative created by Elaine and Elly Ball and was instrumental in establishing NSPS as the North America distributor for the GKIS posters.
